Barcelona, a cosmopolitan city
Barcelona is situated in N.E. Spain and is the capital city of Catalonia. With its location on the Mediterranean coast, Barcelona and its metropolitan area is the most important economic centre and the second biggest city in Spain. It is one of the most important cities in the Mediterranean, with a very strong historical and cultural identity, but at the same time it is also extremely cosmopolitan and "avant-garde". It offers both visitors and residents alike a rich variety of experiences, and is always full of life, with even the tiniest details taken care of so that everybody can make the most of its services, and its cultural, commercial, gastronomic and leisure facilities. Barcelona enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with an average annual temperature of 15.7 degrees centigrade. The sun shines nearly all year, with rain for only one fifth of the year, and usually only lasting for a few hours at most. It hardly ever snows in Barcelona. Barcelona is a city with excellent communications by land, sea and air.

Barcelona enjoys a typical mediterraneo climate, with an anual medium temperature of 15,7º degrees. During all over the year, Barcelona is a sunny city. RainS just appear in 1/5 part of the year, and they are just a few hours rains. Snow is unusual.
Connections and transports
Barcelona es una ciudad muy bien comunicada tanto por tierra, mar y aire. La red de autobuses de la ciudad y su área metropolitana cubre un recorrido con una longitud total de 921,53 kilómetros; la red de metro, compuesta por seis líneas, cuenta con 123 estaciones distribuidas a lo largo de sus 86,6 km de recorrido. Barcelona también está comunicada con el resto de España mediante el tren, disfrutando del nuevo servicio de alta velocidad que ofrece el AVE. El aeropuerto del Prat se ha consolidado como un importante aeropuerto hub europeo, por sus conexiones, tanto nacionales como internacionales.
